Gambier Children's Garden |
|
|---|---|
| What? The Gambier Children's Garden, cosponsered by The Village of Gambier and The Gambier Community Library, will be planted, maintained, and harvested by participating children. It will be used as a play-space for neighborhood children, for library programming (e.g., storytime), and as an educational space for The Mount Vernon City Schools' Alternative Class which is located in The Community Center. Summer library progams will include crafting sessions for children that will use dried flowers and herbs from the garden. Finished crafts will be sold in order to donate money to charity. |
Who? All children up to 18 years of age are welcome to participate. Adult volunteers are needed to assist with site preparation and other activities. Individual and corporate sponsers are also needed. In addition, donations of gardening supplies will be gratefully accepted. Click on the buttons on the left to register children, volunteer, or become a sponser. Donations of supplies may be made by contacting the Gambier Community Library at 740-427-BOOK. |
| Where? The garden will be outside The Gambier Community Center, 115 Meadow Lane, Gambier, OH, next to the picnic pavillion. |
When? The garden will be planted in the spring of 2002. |
