I am
by Erin
I am-
As active as a horse running through a field,
As messy as a pig playing in the mud,
As noisy as a boulder crashing into the Ocean,
As stubborn as a bear guarding her cubs,
As strong as an ox pulling a cart,
As friendly as a putting kitten,
As wild as the wind in a storm,
As tough as the trees in the rainforest who have been through weather.
I am special!

The falling of the Leaves

As the leaves fall down
They begin their autumn dance
For winter is soon.

The crickerts outside are chirping,
my brother's inhere burping,
if the noise doesn't stop,
I'm sure I will pop,
if the crickets don't stop chirping.

Harry Potter Movie Review
by Aileen
The newest movie phenomenon is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, directed by Chris Columbus. For the critics and people not previously acquianted with this young wizard, this is an outstanding movie. But for most who have read the books and are followers of the Series, this movie has not done justice for the book. The movie left out a lot of parts, switched things around and cut out a lot of the humorous happenings. The characters were well portrayed and the special effects were great. There were some very interesting and funny characters in the book that didn't play a big role in the movie, the Weasleys, for example. The twins were practical jokesters, and did a lot of funny stuff in the book, but they were barely there in the movie. The plot went too fast and they left out some things that could have been potentially interesting in the the movie, such as releasing Norbert in the astronomy tower at midnight and the battles at the end when Harry, Ron and Hermione are trying to find the stone. They switched things around, too. Ron wasn't in detention in the Dark Forest with them because he was recovering from a dragon bite in the infirmary, yet in the movie he was. Overall, this movie was good for the time it had, but didn't have a lot of things in the movie that it had in the book.

Murder on the Orient Express Book Review
by Aileen
If you want a book full of mystery, false identity and murder, check out Murder on the Orient Express by one of the best suspense authors, Agatha Christie. The book takes place on a train in Europe. The main character, Inspector Hercule Poirot, is involved in a mysterious circumstance. One of the passengers on the train was murdered by someone on the train! It is the inspector's job to find out who did it. After interrogating the passengers one by one, he comes up with what looks like a dead end. But he digs deeper until he solves the case. The ending is a major surprise. I recommend this book for anyone who likes novels that twist and turn until the end.

What I Like to Do
by Eric
When I am bored I go to my room and turn on the radio. When I like a song I record it. See, I get two blank tapes and record the song so I don't waste my money. Plus, I find something to play with. Also, I like to ride my bike. See, I like to explore and see stuff. Plus find where things are and look around. Plus, I have one dog and two cats. They are O.K., but they can get into trouble too. Well, see you later.
