TOOLS FOR WRITERS
Here are some tools that writers use in contemporary publishing. If you need help or a tutorial, stop in at the Walk-In Writing Clinic or contact Jamie Lyn Smith-Fletcher at email@example.com.
Poets and Writers
Poets and Writers is a magazine, but it is also an information clearinghouse. They offer enormous databases of opportunities for writers, including conferences, classes, publishing houses, agents, residencies, grants...you name it. Go to https://www.pw.org/
NewPages is a great place for emerging and novice writers to start. NewPages.com is news, information, and guides to literary magazines, independent publishers, creative writing programs, alternative periodicals, indie bookstores, writing contests, and more. Go to https://www.newpages.com/
A web-based program that helps writers submit work electronically. Many-- if not most-- literary organizations, magazines, and opportunities funnel through this software. Sign up is free. Go to https://www.submittable.com/
