The Board of Trustees consists of seven members. Four of the Board members are appointed by the Knox County Commissioners and three by the Judge of the Knox County Common Pleas Court. Legal Counsel, Knox County Prosecutor's Office, Chip McConville, Prosecuting Attorney.

Library Board meetings for 2026 (as of 10/14/25, subject to change as needed):

• January 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library
• February- likely no meeting, but February 23 if needed
• March 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library
• April 27, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Fredericktown Community Library 
• May- likely no meeting, but May 18 if needed (May 25 is Memorial Day)
• ​June 22, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Danville Public Library
• July- no meeting, but July 27 if necessary
• August- no meeting, but August 24 if necessary
• September 28, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gambier Community Library
• October 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library
• November- no meeting (will be TBA if needed) but Budget Committee TBA
• December 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Main Library (most likely, but otherwise TBA)

​The Library Board typically meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m., with several exceptions, as noted. You may find meeting dates and times on our library calendar. At its January meeting, the Board organizes for the ensuing year and elects a President, Vice President, and Secretary. Board of Trustees members receive no compensation or benefits for their service on the Board. Board meetings are open to the public. For December and January meeting dates, please call the library at 740-392-BOOK ext. 8236. Meetings held at the branch libraries begin at 5:30 p.m. April board meetings are held at the Fredericktown Community Library, 1 Burgett Dr. Fredericktown. June board meetings are held at the Danville Public Library, 512 S. Market St. Danville. September board meetings are held at the Gambier Community Library, 115 Meadow Ln. Gambier.
