Write Your Novel 2026The library’s “Write Your Novel” workshop continues in 2026! If your New Year’s resolution or life’s dream is to complete a book length project, this self- paced workshop will help you finish the book you’ve always wanted to write.
“Write Your Novel” is a generative, i.e. “Get it done!” writing class, focused on composing new chapters for work-in-progress each month, providing peer feedback, and supporting you on your novel-writing journey. This program is open to all writers age 18+. While novice writers are welcome and no creative writing experience is required, participants must use email, zoom, and google docs. Snacks, writing notebooks, and course textbook provided. Writers of all backgrounds and interests are encouraged to attend. Meetings will be held in the Solarium from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 7 & 21 February 4 & 18 Mar 18 April 1 &15 INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather, the workshop will happen on Zoom. If we activate the weather plan, you’ll be notified via email no later than 3:00 p.m. the day of the workshop (usually sooner). |
All Write! Community Writing WorkshopAll Write! Community Writing Workshop continues at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County in 2026, welcoming all writers age 18+ to join us twice a month for creative writing community, craft tips, workshops, and conversation. The group is open to writers at all stages of experience, from expert to novice.
We’ll meet two Thursdays a month, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, on the following dates: January 8 & 22 February 5 & 19 March 5 & 19 April 2 & 16 May 7 & 21 Attendees should bring something to write with or on. Materials and snacks provided. As with all Library programs, All Write! Community Writing Workshop is free and open to the public. |

Paragraphs Bookstore is the pride of downtown Mount Vernon and hub for avid readers. Paragraphs offers classes for elementary and middle-school age writers in collaboration with The Kenyon Review. Paragraphs also sponsors readings and author visits.
