NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH!
NaNoWriMo challenges aspiring authors to knuckle down and write 1883 words per day, with an end goal of completing a 50,000 word draft of a novel by month's end. The Library invites local writers age 13+ to accept the challenge and join us.
2023 NaNoWriMo Kickoff
There are two NaNoWriMo Kickoff Events on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry St. Mount Vernon:

- 5:00-7:00pm
Write On! Meetup
NaNoWriMo Writers are also invited to participate in a Write On! Meetup, Wednesday, November 15, 5:00-6:00 PM, at The Annex, 12 E. Gambier St. Mount Vernon. Join us for snacks, networking, and writing tips. We'll check in on word count, and check in about your projects.
FINISH LINE CELEBRATION
On Thursday, November 30, 2023 stop by Paragraphs Bookstore, 229 S. Main Street, Mount Vernon, from 4:30-5:30pm, to celebrate your hard work and collect your perseverance prize! We'll talk about upcoming writing workshops at the Library and how you can continue your writing practice beyond November.
